Broadnet, a leading provider of fiber-based communications to companies and operators in Norway, will deploy a Coriant end-to-end optical transport solution as part of a network modernization project. The nationwide network initiative will leverage tight integration of Coriant’s metro to core optical transport solutions to enhance the resiliency and flexibility of business-critical connectivity services, including reducing the time required to provision and deliver new services.
“Network resiliency and service flexibility are increasingly critical to enterprise customers, such as health sector, System Integrators and operators, who rely on always-on availability and diverse connectivity requirements to deliver best-in-class services to their customers,” said Anurag Shukla, Head of Network- and Technology Strategy, Broadnet. “With the end-to-end Coriant solution we can significantly reduce time-to-market for new service delivery. This will allow us to be more responsive to the rapidly changing needs of our customers, while improving network efficiency and reliability with an unprecedented level of automation and control across network domains.”
The Broadnet fiber infrastructure spans over 45,000 kilometers of fiber and connects more than 90 cities and towns throughout Norway. The network serves as the resilient foundation for flexible, high-capacity connectivity services for a broad range of residential, SME, System Integrator, carrier, and enterprise customers, including the health sector, private sector, and government agencies. As part of its modernization efforts, Broadnet is teaming with Coriant to enhance end-to-end delivery of its packet-based (e.g., Ethernet) and optical services, improve utilization of fiber capacity, and cost-effectively scale network capacity.
The Coriant solution for Broadnet includes the Coriant® 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platform, Coriant® mTera® Universal Transport Platform (UTP), and Coriant® hiT 7300 Multi-Haul Transport Platform. To simplify end-to-end provisioning and efficiently manage multi-domain traffic as a single network, Broadnet will rely on the Coriant® Transport Network Management System (TNMS). With advanced integration of the Coriant product platforms, seamless interworking and efficient service hand-offs between metro, core, and long haul domains will provide significant improvements in network operations, while enabling faster and more cost-effective creation of resilient, high-speed services optimized for end-user application demands.
“We are pleased to partner with Broadnet as they take their network to an entirely new level of performance and scalability,” said Richard Fellner, Regional Vice President, EMEA, Coriant. “Broadnet’s network modernization requirements were a perfect match for our end-to-end solutions portfolio, and we look forward to helping them transform their network to deliver a new generation of highly competitive broadband services.”
