US’ CommScope signed an international frame agreement with telecoms provider, Etisalat Group, to supply base station antennas, filters, high quality coaxial cables and connectors and other radio frequency (RF) network solutions.
Abu Dhabi, UAE, headquartered Etisalat aims to upgrade its wireless networks and deploy new technologies across the Middle East and Africa, including LTE in selected markets. Etisalat’s operating companies span the Middle East, Asia and Africa and are at various stages of information and communications technology development and will benefit from access to CommScope’s top-of-the-line solutions, an Etisalat spokesperson said.
Etisalat said that it has expanded its subscriber base to more than 173 million in the 19 international markets it operates in. Etisalat’s market cap is AED 96.8 billion ($26.4 billion).
