Japanese company’s new plant in China bolsters its operations there

Nippon Steel & Sumikin Cold Heading Wire (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (NSCh)Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation has established a new company in China to expand the capabilities of its operations in the country.

A press release said that a new company, Nippon Steel & Sumikin Cold Heading Wire (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (NSCh), was formed to expand the capacity and processing system of Nippon Steel Bar & CH Wire (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., which is a production/sales company for cold heading wire in China. Construction of the new plant began in July 2014, and operations have begun.

The new plant supports the work of Nippon Steel Bar & CH Wire (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., which was established in 2006 and began operations in 2007. Supported by the growth of automobile production in China, it is now in full operation at a stable pace exceeding 1,000 tons/month. Per the release, the new company will help respond to growing demand for cold heading wire in China, and to further enhance competitiveness in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
